Some stories begin long before the first page. They begin with the objects we carry, the memories we refuse to leave behind, and the moments that quietly reshape who we are.

For Saturn Returning, I created an illustrated book cover that unfolds like a personal table of collected fragments. Tarot cards, a vintage camera, scattered photographs, jewellery, wine glasses, and handwritten textures become visual metaphors for fate, memory, friendship, love, and transformation. Each object holds its own story while contributing to a larger narrative about navigating adulthood and embracing change.

Painted with expressive brushwork and layered textures, the composition invites readers to linger and discover new details with every glance. The bold hand-lettered title contrasts against the intimate still-life arrangement, creating a balance between energy and quiet reflection. Inspired by the astrological Saturn Return—a period often associated with profound personal growth—the cover captures the uncertainty, beauty, and resilience found in life's defining transitions.

This project reflects my passion for creating narrative-driven illustrations that combine symbolism, colour, and texture into emotionally resonant editorial and publishing design. I strive to create covers that do more than attract attention—they offer readers an invitation into the emotional world of the story before the first chapter begins.
